A procurement team from Google’s Taiwan unit recently travelled to China, where it met with Envicool executives. The team is also expected to hold talks with other potential suppliers as the company evaluates options for sourcing cooling equipment for its data centres.

Envicool, headquartered in Shenzhen, manufactures cooling technologies used in data centres and has been expanding its presence in the sector. Sources say the company has developed products tailored to meet Google’s technical requirements.

The discussions come as demand for advanced cooling systems grows alongside the expansion of data centres supporting artificial intelligence applications. These systems are designed to manage the heat generated by high-performance computing equipment.

Envicool has reported strong business growth in recent months. The company disclosed that its revenue rose significantly in early 2026, driven by increased orders linked to data centre infrastructure.

Other Chinese firms are also active in the data centre cooling market. Companies such as Lingyi iTech and Feilong Auto Components have been developing components and systems used in cooling solutions. Server manufacturer Lenovo is also part of the broader supply chain linked to data centre equipment.

Google has not publicly confirmed the discussions. Impact Newswire understands that the company typically works with a range of global suppliers to support its hardware and infrastructure needs.

Taiwan-based manufacturers, including Foxconn and Auras, remain among Google’s existing partners in the production of hardware components used in its data centre operations.

The potential deals under discussion have not been finalised, and there is no indication yet of the scale or timeline of any agreements. Sources noted that talks are ongoing and could still change.

The cooling systems under consideration are used to regulate temperatures in facilities that house servers and other computing equipment. Such systems are a key component of data centre operations, particularly in facilities designed to handle intensive computing workloads.

Envicool is publicly listed in China and has attracted investor attention due to its role in supplying cooling solutions for data infrastructure. The company’s market value has increased as demand for its products has grown.

Google continues to expand its global data centre footprint as it supports a range of digital services, including cloud computing and artificial intelligence applications.
